Are you 16 and just leaving school?

The government has increased the age to which all young people in England are required to continue in education or training. They are still allowed to leave school at 16, but must continue in some form of learning until aged 18.

So what are your options?

16 – 18 years of age

  1. Further Education (Sixth form, college, training provider)
  2. Apprenticeship or Traineeship
  3. Part-time study alongside a job or volunteering

18 or over

  1. Higher Education (college or university)
  2. Apprenticeship or Traineeship
  3. Employment, own business or internship
  4. Gap Year
