And the Eurocities 2013 award for Smart Jobs goes to BEACH…
We are proud to announce that in November 2013 BEACH was announced as winner in the Smart Jobs category of the Eurocities 2013 awards. The awards recognise outstanding efforts by cities to engage with smart citizens to develop smart cities.
The awards are part of the EUROCITIES annual conference which took place in the Belgian city on 27-29 November. Freya van den Bossche, Flemish Minister for Cities, Housing, Energy and the Social Economy, presented the awards to the winners and said: “The truly smart city is one that works with its citizens to improve quality of life. The many, impressive entries for this year’s awards have shown us that that this is happening here and now in cities all over Europe. I hope that the examples of Brighton and Hove, Gijon and Ljubljana will inspire all other cities to keep on developing even more innovative ways of engaging with their citizens.”
EUROCITIES is the political platform for major European cities. We network the local governments of over 130 of Europe’s largest cities and 40 partner cities that between them govern some 130 million citizens across 35 countries.
